Your Monks have absolutely no way to stop any sort of spike on anyone but themselves, with the exception of a single measily Draw Conditions, and one Infuse which, without other support, will have a high chance of failing or simply getting yourself killed. With a Heal Party on a single Monk, he'll easily run out of energy keeping up with any form of condition/degen pressure. Your Warriors, while easily dealing a lot of damage, can also just as easily be shut down, but Wards, anti-melee skills and plain simple kiting. And yes, Flag Control will be a problem for you. Doesn't matter if you kill 10 guys while they kill 5, their Res Sigs will recharge while yours will not.

The usual format for thie build is 4 thumpers (two with charge, 2 with backbreaker), one death necro, two monks and a water ele runner.

The reason for the warrior elites rather than the ferocious strike elite is because with the death necro you want your pets to die and accumulate as much DP as possible so that the necro can use nova/putrid/profane to repeatedly inflict huge pressure on the other side. Make no mistake, the bulk of the pressure comes from the death magic, as when you play against another tainted the damage isnt half as much.

As long as you have a very good player on the death necro (who has a shed load of jobs to do) its a simple, powerful build imo. Probably stronger with a mes/nec in the necro slot because of the proliferation of death necros at the moment in the meta, although because of the energy constraints (no soul reaping) this makes the role even more complex.

I played in a PUG team on friday who got over 100 points in 90 minutes running this, so its a strong build if played aggressively enough

If they camp in wards then they will get wiped by the disease and the putrid/nova/profane. if they split you just gank, as there arent many builds that can outgank this.

I dont think it matters what monks you run as long as they are good at kiting. One of ours spent most of the time on the phone apparently and in another battle one of the monks err=7d on load and we still won.

Death Necro, either

N/Mo

Death 14, soul 10 dump into prot

tainted, putrid, rotting, death nova, profane, aegis, resurrect or rez sig, utility slot (consume? Infuse? Idk)

(put 2nd aegis and HP on runner)

or

Mes/Nec

Death 12, insp 10, dump into fast cast

tainted, putrid, rotting, nova, consume, denchant, pdrain, rez sig

No profane on mesmer as he wont have the energy

trick is knowing which corpse exploitation skill to use at the right time ( no point in putrid on a corpse away from the battle, dangerous to consume into the midst of their wards), and making sure your guy gets every one. Once the pets get DP keep them permanently nova'd

Its a nice farming build, alot of the battles are less than five minutes, but they can drag on if the other team is also running tainted or martyr

Never use "defense" ranger spirits in gvg, it just isn't worth it.

About the build: 8 expertise is the breakpoint (12 HM, 8+1 EXP, 10+3+1 BM is the normal attribute spread)...

Its maybe a pet pieve of mine but I hate this kind of mentality. By complete build from that sentence it looks like you mean 'the offence'. Monks can sort themselves out. This for me is typical of what a HA player might think rather than a gvg one, and your "r9+ friends" comment is not doing you any favours here.

"I don't play monk, I leave all that monking stuff to them".
Let me from my very limited experience give you a piece of advice. If you make a build with no idea about what your backline and your defence as a whole can and can't deal with you or the play caller will be unable to know when to sound a retreat, when you can push through, how much you can over extend. Further more if you don't understand how an average backline operates, how exactly do you plan to break one beyond "switch on my target and dump adrenaline in 3 2 1 *shock*".

I know that you're trying to make an easy to pick up and play build and that you may have different people playing each time you zone in, so maybe you don't care about this kind of thing, but if you're serious about playing gvg and want to foster a team, these are the kind of things you'll have to start paying attention to.

If you aren't willing to post a complete and.. good... build, then don't post at all.
